R U L E S
1. Only players who already have characters in the game may apply for ministry spots.
2. One Ministry character per player.
3. Ministry characters can be corrupt or they can be for great justice.
4. We'll decide how many ministry members qualify, so if you see 4 apps, you can still submit your own.
5. Do NOT apply for these positions with a character who is not suited for the role. Also do not apply for these spots just to give another character a Ministry BFF. It's cool if they know them a bit, but please, no BFF's.
6. Mods may contact in terms of certain plots that need to be carried out.
7. Ministry characters are able to punish students for misbehaving. They can only takes points if they do anything evilish. For points taking, they have the same restrictions as TA's.
8. All other in game rules apply to these characters as well.

Personality: Calm, collected, and mysterious. She tends to act suspiciously, even towards her 'allies', and always seems to be holding more information than she cares to reveal.

Brief History in Canon A supporting character, her actions are brief but highly influential. In SIGN, she began to assist the main characters by giving them sublime and riddle-like clues towards the right direction. Once they begin to solve her clues, she leads them to the mysterious Net Slum and protected them momentarily from Morganna. However, Aura awakened and Skeith entered the Slum, and Helba ordered everyone to retreat. In the Games, she plays a bit of a more interactive role - she saves Kite from being Data Drained by Skeith, and continuously teaches him how to use the illegal hacking program that Aura granted to him. When not giving Kite clues, she tends to collect deleted data. Once Kite starts to defeat the Phases more frequently, Helba makes herself more apparent, and begins to direct Kite's actions with assistance from Lios (an administrator). By the final battle, she develops a protection program for the party and creates a seperate server in which to fight the final boss. In the LEGEND OF TWILIGHT manga, her influence is significantly smaller, as she is only mentioned offhand and offers assistance through other characters in her stead.
Background (AU!Canon; HP): Helba's past is painfully blank for someone in such an important role, but it has been made somewhat clear that she has some sort of way to retrieve insider's information on the Death Eaters. As a result, her methods are often pulled into question, but her insight into the Death Eaters repeatedly proves invaluable. Though many tend to detest her methods and are suspicious of her ways, she seems to make it rather clear (in her own opaque way) that she has no intention to switch sides. Helba tends to surround herself with wizards and muggles alike that can supply her with information, and will often send them out in stead of meeting others in person. Her information is so heavily guarded by fakes, secrets and alternate histories that no one knows who she really is. At first glance, her background seems normal - a family tree, a full set of records from all sorts, the sort of detail one would expect from a normal person. But in most cases, with further inspection, contradictions can be found in her records, discrediting much of her history. She is reclusive, and few people are aware of her existance at all - some may have thought 'Helba' to be the code name of an information network. In her first year or so within the Ministry, she was placed under heavy observation due to her unconventional methods of collecting intelligence, but over time proved herself to be an incredibly valuable asset in the war against the Death Eaters.
What do they do at the Ministry?: One of the more successful information collectors, likely with some others underneath her.

Currently, in terms of hard evidence, there is none to support that any members of the student or staff are part of the Death Eater movement.
There are a number of students, however, that have particularly poor family relations within that region that show signs of desperately wanting to remain on our side, but are not quite capable of proving their words with actions at the moment.
If you have a specific person for me to investigate, do use either your journal or leave it in the mailbox of my office. I will keep my door constantly locked, so don't bother trying to go inside.
If any of you happen to pick up on potentially reliable information, relay it to me in a written report, and I will review it that way.
Sample Interaction Post in Third Person: After meeting with a number of her informants and receiving their reports, she found a relatively secure room at a motel. She read her reports for a while, taking time to nibble on some lunch as she did so. Her expression was measured, despite no one else being in the room to bother her, and after about an hour of reading, she began to put together her own report. However, as was her nature, she didn't lay a hand on her materials, using a simple variation of the Locomotor spell to make the quill to write on its own, so as not to add her own handwriting to the piece. Skillfully compacting the information, carefully separating which details were fact and which were speculation, and maintaining a precise and to-the-point report, she finished the writing significantly faster than she read her information. Once her report was complete, she used magic to roll it up and attach it to her owl, which flew off to, not the direct address, but to a station where a supporter of hers would intercept it and use his own owl to send the message.
Helba leaned back in her chair thoughtfully as she looked at the reassignment notice she had received. "Hogwarts, hmm? This will be interesting. It will be the longest I have spent time in public, after all," Helba mused to herself. "I believe I will take up on the offer. There is information to be found in the grand halls of the school, after all... and if things continue at this pace, it will become the battle front. Yes, this is an optimal position, indeed..."
Why should this character be accepted for a ministry position?: [For the LULZ need not apply] She is a very realistic character in terms of abilities within her canon, and though extremely mysterious, she's incredibly resourceful. Because she's both highly influential and minimally active in the canon, she proves incredibly flexible and adaptable to the setting. Her method of working in her canon seems very adaptable to the SH world.

Age: 27 (though it's never really stated how old he is.)
Personality: Cold, twisted, detached. Whatever you chose to describe him as, it doesn't change that he can pretty much be seen as demented at first glance. Humanity is something that disgusts him, liking human organs more than humans themselves. This being said, he does not like himself and finds that he is soiled and dirty like the rest of humanity. However, he loves all animals no matter the kind and they all seem to love him. He does not even experiment on them and instead uses humans as his test subjects. It is mentioned in the manga that the only beings he does not love are humans. Before someone gets to know him, if he is trying to be undercover, or if he is using someone to further his own needs, he will seem kind and gentle.
Jizabel Disraeli 2/??
Several years later, Jizabel pretended to be Cain's family doctor, Dr. Ancel, who was in fact murdered and found floating in a river. Jizabel informs Cain that he is apart of the secret organization, Delilah, and that Alexis was alive and not dead as Cain thought. After this, Jizabel attempts to kill his half-brother on many an occasion as well as remove his eyes and put them in a jar but never does so, it being revealed that he actually loved Cain after Jizabel gives his life up to prolong Riff's. Just like Cain, he is whipped by Alexis but not every day like him. Eventually he becomes the Death Card of Delilah, now being apart of the Arcana Major. At times, he is accompanied by Cassian, a man who stopped growing at a young age, later having his brain transfered into an older body by a surgery that Jizabel was heading, and the only person who truly cares for Jizabel at the end. Cassian wanted Jizabel to escape from Alexis but Jizabel replies that he can't because he is like Alexis's pawn and just can't escape. In the end, Jizabel takes a bullet for Alexis and dies by slitting open his own throat to let Riff live a little longer, never receiving the love of his father. He dies in Cassian's arms. Cassian proceeds to bury the man in a forest, surrounded by the animals he loved so much and which loved him in return.

He was home-schooled and did not interact with other children, his only friend being a little lamb he named Snark. One day, Jizabel saw the staff slaughtering animals and he did not want to eat anything because that would be like killing living creatures. His father did not allow him to see Snark until one day when he promised he would if Jizabel ate what was prepared for him. Not suspecting anything wrong, the young boy agreed and eagerly ate the meal. Once he was finished, Alexis informed him that had been Snark and something in Jizabel snapped, even more so when being informed that he'd just been a substitute for his real son, Cain, and that the new organs in his body were those of his two sisters. Wandering through the halls, Jizabel ran into a muggle that Alexis had been experimenting on. The muggle assumed that Jizabel was evil and attempted to kill him. Jizabel killed the man before that and embraced the intestines spilling out of the man's stomach, surprised at how this warm and loving thing was inside dirty human bodies. He also found out that Alexis killed his mother. Jizabel has had her heart in a jar ever since.
After this, Jizabel grew to hate humans but still wanted the love of his father even though he knew he would never get it. Alexis didn't personally like mudbloods, preferring to keep everything pure. This being so much true that he had a son with his own sister; That son was Cain. Cain was a person he grew to hate without ever truly meeting him. Alexis later convinced Jizabel to not only become a Death Eater but a member of the Ministry of Magic. Since then, he has aided the Death Eaters in numerous attacks as well as helped the Ministry with many various experiments. Alexis was supposedly killed several years ago by his own son, Cain, but he is in fact alive and a member of the Death Eaters. When Jizabel was asked to go to Hogwarts, Alexis ordered him to go as it would be perfect for infiltrating the school. Jizabel was also told to behave himself and not kill anyone... for now, anyway.
What do they do at the Ministry?: Mostly research and experimentation for the Department of Mysteries. Jizabel is one of the Unspeakables.

Irritating creatures. Pureblooded, mudblood, squib- whichever term one uses it all describes these disgusting beings that soil everything they touch. Shame Alexis specifically ordered for me to behave myself and not indulge in my more pleasurable activities but, how much more lovely would these students look covered in beautiful crimson blood. Perhaps a select minority would allow me to surgically remove those beautiful organs from their bodies and preserve them in jars. They'll keep mother company.
Sample Interaction Post in Third Person: It was mid afternoon in Hogwarts, with students rushing through the halls as they hurried to their next class yet most noticed the beautiful man who nearly seemed to glide down the hallway. Gorgeous locks of silver cascaded down his back and flowed beautifully behind him while his piercing cerulean eyes gazed dead ahead, taking in everything in front of them.
Unfortunately, one young first year girl was not as smart as she dashed down the path without watching where she was going. She was startled when she suddenly ran into something. She looked up and saw that she'd ran into the man from the ministry of magic and began to frantically apologize.
Jizabel merely laughed, kneeling down so that he might look the girl in the eyes, "Now, please do be careful where you walk. Eyes are for seeing so please do use them." That innocent smile became just ever so slightly twisted as Jizabel added, "Or an unfortunate accident might occur and you'll lose those lovely little eyes of yours. You wouldn't want that now would you, my dear?"
A sudden chill trailed down the girl's spine at that last sentence, a voice in the back of her mind telling her this man was not nearly as kind as he made himself out to be. Forcing a smile, she nodded meekly before sprinting down the hall.
Piercing sapphire eyes followed her form until it vanished inside a classroom. No longer was there a smile on his face as an irritated expression had taken its place, "Annoying child. Next time you cross my path, I will remove those eyes of yours since you cannot seem to use them properly anyway." With one final sneer, Jizabel turned and continued on his way.
Why should this character be accepted for a ministry position?: [For the LULZ need not apply] Well, seeing as he basically hates humanity in general, he would be mostly unbiased about who he suspects of being evil or tied in with the Death Eaters, unless Alexis specifically told him not to or to suspect a person. Canonly, he was tied in with an evil organization and his father was a powerful man so it's rather fitting to have him in the ministry. Personality: Tanaka only cares about himself. Well, himself and money. He’s quite haughty, thinking he’s reached celebrity status, even If that really isn’t case. He also doesn’t mind taking ‘shortcuts’ to get things done—even if it means said shortcuts are illegal, immoral, or anything in between. As long as it looks like it works, and the people buy it (even temporarily) that’s a score for Tanaka.
And don’t even think on getting over on him, for a product that doesn’t work, or a promise that wasn’t fulfilled. He’ll blackmail you faster than you can blink or failing that, annoy you until you give up. Bodily harm? Don’t even threaten it, or you’ll have a lawusuit down your throat!
Tanaka’s number one trait, arrogance means he values what people think of him, a lot. So he’s big on namebrand clothes, and keeping up appearances—no matter how half-assed. Basically, the only time Tanaka will do anything for the better of another person, is if there’s something in it for him; even then, he might do so grudgingly. To sum it up, Tanaka think he’s hot shit, and WILL lecture everyone on EVERYTHING. For God sake’s, look at how successful he is!
Note: I’ll be playing him early on in the Devil S-Link, before he develops the SMIDGEN of compassion for helping other people.
Brief History in Canon Tanaka runs his own infomercial on the TV every Sunday eagerly selling item bundles, in both Persona 3 & 4. In persona 3 however, he is also the Devil S-Link where you can learn subsequently more about him. To even begin to talk to him requires you to pay a good amount of yen, and it turns out it’s all just a scam anyway. Throughout the conversations you learn that even though he has a lot of money, he barely has any time to spend it! Tanaka basically lectures you on anything and everything, tells you about get-rich-quick schemes, and how to sell stuff to people. Even things that don’t work.
In the end, he winds up giving a substantial amount of yen to charity—but only because there was a hot woman involved. Sadly, there really is no changing Tanaka.

On the side, he runs his own little personal business—selling magical trinkets that don’t work at all for a hefty fee. Tanaka has the PR job for the job advancement and the exposure, his magical trinket business is really where he rakes in the dough. As the PR person for the Ministry of Magic, he often confronts and is forced to console those who are worried. What better way to ease your sorrows, than with a magical bottle of ‘Death Eater’ begone!
What do they do at the Ministry?: As stated in the AU! History, he works as a public relations person in the Ministry of Magic. So he will assure the students and staff, that everything Is absolutely positively fine!
Oh, and he’ll try to sell people stuff to calm their fears, lose weight, get a lover, really his trinkets can cure anything. Useless, useless, stuff.

Personality: A basic, first glance explanation of his personality is that he is a smug perfectionist, though, like most people, he goes much much deeper. He is a genuinely caring person, whether or not he wants to be all the time. He is very focused on justice being done, however he will also do his job even if a conflict of interests arises in the process. He tends to have a very no-nonsense attitude and can be bitingly sarcastic towards people, though he will treat people with respect that deserve it from him. He is very mature and set in his ways, and does not seem to like having a lot of attention drawn to him even though he tends to get it. He is for the most part very calm though annoyed easily, and in extreme situations he will show the emotion called for.
Brief History in Canon: Miles grew up with his father, Gregory Edgeworth, who was a defense attorney, which he aspired to be. One day in school he defended his classmate, Phoenix Wright, who had been accused of stealing his lunch money, because although no one else believed Phoenix, he attested his innocence and Miles thought someone should stand up for him. He was backed up by another boy, Larry Butz. The three became fast friends. Later that year, though, Miles and his father were in an elevator with a guard after a trial when an earthquake hit. Though he was nearly unconscious from oxygen deprivation, he heard a struggle between the two men, so he picked up a nearby gun and threw it to protect his father, but it fired. When they were found, his father was dead from a gunshot wound. Miles tried to forget that he had thrown the gun, but was constantly plagued by nightmares of it.
Miles was taken in by Manfred von Karma, who had been the prosecutor in his father's last case and was basically made a part of the family. Von Karma was obsessed with perfection and taught Miles to become a prosecutor that would do whatever it took to get a perfect record. When he was 20 he made his first appearance in court, and quickly became known as the "demon prosecutor," never losing a case. This continued until he was 24 and first had to face Phoenix in court, when he first lost a case. He did not take it very well, seeing as his perfect streak was broken, nor did he like the memories of his old self that Phoenix kept bringing back to his mind. However, when he was accused of murder, Miles found himself having to rely on Phoenix for help, although it meant having to dig up a past he rather would have him not look at. Despite the fact that all the evidence was against him, Phoenix didn't give up and managed to get him acquitted, simultaneously proving that Miles did not accidently kill his father, but von Karma had. This case opened his eyes and made him realize there was more to the law than simply prosecuting the accused.
After that he went abroad and began studying international law, coming back twice to assist on cases. The first time he was met with an odd reception, as he had left a note implying he had committed suicide before he left. The second time he filled in as the defense attorney for a day, as Phoenix was in the hospital with a bad cold after nearly getting himself killed. During these times he was far less of a jerk in his interactions with the others and appeared to have eased up around people a bit, his personal demons having been mostly solved.
Edgeworth [2/3]
He was accepted to Hogwarts and did very well in his first year there. However, tragedy struck that summer, as his father was killed in a dark wizard attack while returning home from work. Miles witnessed the attack, and though he was in hiding for most of it he unfortunately saw his father's final moments, the vision and shock of which still torment him. With no other family, he was taken to Germany by Manfred von Karma, a wizard that had known his father through his international work with the Ministry. Miles continued the rest of his schooling in the mainland of Europe under his strict rules and guidance, which hardened his personality a bit. He had not heard of any news of the wizard who killed his father being caught and brought to justice, which disenchanted his interest in the Aurors and, more notably, the Wizengamot.
After he finished his education, he decided to return to Great Britain and seek work in the Ministry of Magic despite his dislike for a few of the departments. His initial hiring was in lower office work, as most of the wizards there did not know him and he only had his education record from Germany, however an additional endorsement from von Karma, who still commonly worked as an international representative, helped him gain a position. His talents were quickly evident, however, and he quickly rose through the ranks in different departments, making connections with various wizards in them. Eventually found himself in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Though he was initially leery of this placement, as it put him too close to the Wizengamot for comfort, he found himself working in the Improper Use of Magic Office, where his near-obsession with making sure people in violation of the laws were punished in some way helped raise him to one of the higher positions in the office.
What do they do at the Ministry?: He works in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement as one of the higher ups in the Improper Use of Magic Office.
Sample Interaction Post in First Person: ...Greetings, students. I am Miles Edgeworth of the Improper Use of Magic Office, and I will be watching over things for a while. I request that you merely answer anything I may inquire of you.

Hmph, Hogwarts. I admit, I do not have many memories of this place. In the grand schema, however, such things are not important.
I am not completely pleased with this assignment, but it has been given to me and, as such, I will carry it out. If I can assist in terminating the actions of criminals, then this will not be a waste of my abilities. This may also help us to better understand these children for the circumstances in which we normally have to deal with them.

He paused for a moment as his eyes fell on the memo that had flown onto his desk earlier in the day. Though it did not go into many details, he had gained the basic gist of it. The Ministry obviously wanted him to go to Hogwarts as one of their officials in their research on the recent Death Eater attacks on the students. Honestly, he was not completely sure of the point of sending someone from the Improper Use of Magic Office. Of course he was qualified for practically any job they assigned him, however it really appeared to be something that better suited the Auror office. And yet, if students were getting involved in the activities currently surrounding the Dark Arts, perhaps the presence of someone in his division was not so bad. Regardless, he still needed to attend the meeting it mentioned later that day, where he would undoubtably be given the details of this assignment.
He leaned back in his chair and looked out the window. Hogwarts... The year he had spent there was mostly a blur in his mind. That had been during a better...well, no, different period in his life. He frowned before returning his attention back to the paperwork in front of him. Though he had tried not to in the first place, now that he thought of it, perhaps gathering information and keeping a watch on dark wizards was not such a bad place for him after all.
Why should this character be accepted for a ministry position?: He is very focused on his job and making sure that in the end, justice is done. However, if the two ever conflict, he can be good about finding ways to balance them into the proper solution. Also, if he knows something bad is going on, he does whatever he can to make sure it's stopped. Seeing as he was a prosecutor in canon and thus had a high ranking position, the Ministry seems to suit him.

Personality: A liar. Rude. Uses bribery and her deceptive ways to appeal to people, and get them to do things she wants them to do. When that backfires, she will resort to more drastic methods, including murder.
Brief History in Canon GLaDOS (short for Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) is a sentient A.I. Aperture Science developed her during their experiments with Portal technology and as a rebuttal towards their competitor, Black Mesa. Testing on GLaDOS was going well until she reached a god-like state, releasing a deadly neurotoxin throughout the Aperture Science Enrichment Center. This event forced workers at the center to install a mortality core in her.
In the game, GLaDOS uses lies and offerings of cake to “guide” the sole survivor, Chell, through the Enrichment Center’s trial rooms. Upon reaching the end of the final room, GLaDOS attempts to murder Chell in a fiery pit only to have her escape though the underground areas of the Center. GLaDOS tries in vein to persuade Chell to return to her room at the beginning level. She becomes more and more rude and more obviously uncaring about Chell’s state of being (as if trying to burn her alive hadn’t pointed that out already). Eventually, Chell confronts GLaDOS, who once again releases a deadly neurotoxin into the air. Chell destroys each of GLaDOS’ cores (mortality, curiosity, anger and intelligence) causing a portal error that transports everything outside the Enrichment Center.
GLaDOS 2/3?
The solution came when a worker from the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office suggested incorporating a new Muggle artifact they had recently acquired. According to their research, it was referred to as a Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System (GLaDOS.) GLaDOS was capable of interacting with life forms and recording the data that was relayed to her. This data would be permanently stored and, if it contained vital information, could then be used to find and prosecute those who were guilty in a more sufficient manner.
It was decided then. A permanent transfiguration spell was applied to make GLaDOS appear in the form of a young Ministry worker (yet they couldn’t seem to fix that monotone voice of hers.) She was given the Ministry's archives to scan so as to learn of the identity of each and every witch and wizard that their world encompassed. She was even taught a few basic spells, including one that would allow her to constantly keep herself at full power.
The last two Dark Wizard attacks had involved the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Ministry decided this was where GLaDOS' first assignment as their new interrogator would be.
What do they do at the Ministry?: Mainly used for file storage/retrieval and interrogation purposes. i Has been used in numerous trials in the Wizengamot to provide exact testimony against presumed Dark Wizards. Each testimony she’s given has lead to the guilty party’s sentencing to Azkaban prison.

The Routine Scheduled Questioning Sessions I have designed for each of you are not optional. However, regular attendance is appreciated. Failure to be present at one, or more of these sessions will only result in your inevitable downfall.

Brief History in Canon Nick became a attorney for one big reason, in his childhood, he was wrongly accused of stealing from his class and was quite distraught because he had no way to stick up for himself until Miles Edgeworth and Larry Butz helped him out. Edgeworth held a small court in class to prove his innocence and from then on, he was grateful. Though he and Edgeworth were distant after the tradgey of his father’s death, Phoenix still achieved his dream as becoming an attorney. As a beginning Attorney , he soon lost his mentor, Mia due to a murder in their office. Soon after, Mia’s sister, Maya joined him and helped him defend and solve cases given to him. It went on like that for a number of years, sometimes cases harder than the previous ones or when he has to face his old friend Edgeworth. Soon after though, due to the loss of one of his cases, he retired and became unknown to the world of justice.
Background (AU!Canon; HP): Born into a family of muggles, the word “magic” was always associated with a man pulling a rabbit out of his hat so when the letter of recognition at Hogwarts arrived for Nick, his whole family was speechless. They simply couldn’t believe that their only son was a wizard. It amazed them of all the wonders of this world and Nick couldn’t help but feeling a bit overwhelmed. His whole school years at Hogwarts were that of both fond memories and some of the scariest moments in his life that gave him adrenaline rushes and soon led to his future career as an Auror. Nick made sure during his last two years at Hogwarts were to work hard and achieve his goal, determined to become someone who defended everyone…as much as it scared him sometimes. Once An Auror, Nick soon became one of the best even if he had a bit of odd luck sometimes. As the rise of death eater attacks frequented, Nick was assigned to come back to Hogwarts and stick around there for suspicious activity as well as in case there was another moment of tragedy with the attempts on the muggle born of Hogwarts. Through thick and thin, Nick is determined to protect these kids with his life.
What do they do at the Ministry?: Nick is one of the many Aurors here to defend Hogwarts! He knows when to bust a move when need be. He can sometimes be a bid of a laidback Auror unless there is someone higher up around him.

Link is a very reserved, no-nonsense type of man. If someone is doing something silly, or bugging him, he will tell them politely, but coldly what he thinks of their behaviour. This is usually because he is dedicated to his job and is very serious when it comes to people possibly endangering what he is trying to achieve. He is very loyal to his superiors and this often blinds him to the true nature of his work, even if it's possibly cruel or unfair. Link himself does believe in doing the right thing, and considers any questionable action to be for the greater good. When it comes to taking action however, he will sacrifice himself for the well-being of other's.
Link is also very awkward around other people. He seems to have trouble taking a joke, and enjoys activities that have a more logical reasoning behind them like baking and chess. He is quite talented fighter however, but only uses his skill when absolutely necessary. He'd rather take on a diplomatic approach to disagreements rather than resorting to violence. This being said though, his personality and failure to understand social interaction outside of rank seems to get him into a bit of trouble when dealing with others. He gets very annoyed even angry when people don't seem to understand the importance of orders. He can be quite frank and tactless, but it's not a conscious thing but an assumption that everyone would rather hear cold hard facts than an iced over version.
Brief History in Canon
Link is in canon a subordinate to Lvellie, an inspector from Headquarters of the Black Order. After Allen Walker is accused of being in cahoots with the 14th, Link was put in charge of surveillance on the young exorcist's every move. At first Link was considerably cold and treated Allen like an unfortunate element of his job, instead of an actual person and constantly bickered with him. Eventually Link settled into his routine with Allen and was even able to help him on missions and started to grow fond of him. On one particular mission a thief known as G, started kidnapping people's bodies and manipulate them to steal objects for him. While trying to capture this thief with no body, Link was possessed briefly. Allen eventually chased the possessor out of Link's body and they tracked the real thief down to a small boy named Timothy.
While the exorcists tried to talk Timothy into coming back to headquarters with them, Akuma attacked the orphanage, killing several people. While the exorcists were fighting, an Akuma with the ability to turn people into dolls showed up, and kidnapped Timothy. Link who had taken the young boy and a woman under his protection fought the Akuma to save him, but was not nearly as quick as he needed to be. The Akuma turned Link into a doll, rendering him useless, if not dead. (And I should note that this is the latest chapter in D.Gray-man, so it's really unclear what Link's ultimate fate is.)

Link grew up in a fairly normal half-blood household, his mother a witch and his father a Professor at a muggle university. At the age of eleven he was invited to Hogwarts to study and did so with outstanding marks until his graduation. Ever since he was a small boy he had been interested in law and doing 'great-good' for England, so he took up an secretary job at the ministry of magic, a very low ranking position. Due to his hard work, talent in DADA and ability to follow orders to the word, Link was promoted until he reached a rather respected position. Since he worked his way literally form a bottom feeders position into a respected one, he is quite serious about his job, and takes pride in his work. He was very content to continue his field work job at the ministry, until his transfer to Hogwarts. He is less than pleased to find himself back at the school, taking care of kids, which he has no talent in dealing with.
What do they do at the Ministry?:
Whenever someone is suspected of practise or dealing in the Dark Arts, Link is the person that is sent in to monitor them discreetly. He makes it his business to know what they're up to at all times, keep track of their purchases/trades, and basically follows their every move. Once he's collected enough evidence he reports back to his superior and lets them make the decision on how the situation should be handled.

... I must confess that I'm rather disappointed of the state of security here at Hogwarts. It seems thing have indeed been slipping since I've last been here. He was purposely tuning out the despaired moans of the broken pieces scattered around the board. There was a realistic charm on this chess set, he had realized straight away. Maybe a little too realistic, and from the first pawn taken he understood the only way to win this would be to completely ignore the little marble statues. After several minutes of selective hearing silence, he shifted in his seat and confidently spoke out loud.
"Knight to H-4"
He watched as the miniscule knight jumped to attention and made its way to the desired location. He watched as the figurine plunged its toy spear into the chest of the opposing queen, and nodded to himself that that had indeed been the right choice. Leaning back in his chair he tapped his gloved fingers on the arm rest of the chair and flicked his eyes up towards his opponent’s face.
"Your turn, if you please."
Why should this character be accepted for a ministry position?:
In his canon he is basically serving in a ministry position during a war. He understands that severe measures need to be taken during such times, and goes about his orders in an efficient cool headed way. He is genuinely interested in ending mayhem and bringing peace though even if he has the wrong idea how to go about it.
That Bacon had a nice set of bits, or something.

Personality: Gentle-hearted, and almost a bit clumsy, Li is your average easy going guy. He’s always cheerful, and there doesn’t seem to be anything too off about him.
In truth, that personality is just a front. His true personality is well… he honestly doesn’t have much of one, he’s about as neutral as a person could possibly get. Many people would describe this as cold, as most things do not faze him. What he sees are the beginning and ends, not the people caught up in events, he will do whatever is most rational and beneficial to him. Blunt and serious in his tone, this is in truth who he really is. Though maybe there is a smidgen of real caring in him after all.
Brief History in Canon Li Shenshung appears to be a normal college student on the surface. There’s nothing too extraordinary about him, besides the fact that he works a lot of part-time jobs, and his landlords always say he is a sweet boy. In truth, he is actually Hei, the black reaper one of the best assassins/contractors in the world. Employed by an organization only known as the Syndicate, Hei follows out the contracts issued by them, whether it be assassination, or simple spying missions. In truth, Hei is looking for the details of what happened to his younger sister, but other than that has no true agenda and is rather callous.
His special ability as a Contractor (those who are gifted with extra powers, but who lack true emotions), is the power to control electricity.

The eldest of two children, Li was trained from a very early age to abstain from emotions, in old school martial arts (which many in the wizarding world found useless nowadays), in wand dueling, and many other things a young boy should never have to deal with-- everything must be business like. His sister though, Pai was spared the pressure of continuing the family business, and she was the only joy Li was allowed to have in his life. When Li was around the age of 14, Pai was abruptly taken from him and his family by an unknown person or group. Due to their business the suspects are many—some shady person in the ministry could have taken his sister, the Death Eaters, or even just a former victim of theirs with a vendetta. If Li has any true motive at all, it is to simply find out what happened to his sister.
Following that he led a rather unassuming life, although his parents did make the choice to home school him to ensure he learned the tools of the trade. He took OWLS and NEWTS like everyone else though, and earned rather average marks for them. It’s not that he’s an average person, just in the business of contracts, it is better to be the norm, to fade in. At present, he is currently employed in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, where he helps people who accidently jinx themselves, etc. His coworkers all speak well of him, although they think he is a tad clumsy to be working there, but he has shown a strange proficiency for electrical spells.
As for his other side, he has decided to continue the family business of taking contracts. His current position in the ministry enables him to snoop around and see what various government officials are up to, which is highly beneficial for his clients who deal more on the shady side of things. Regardless, he still finds work in the virtuous side as well as he does occasionally run into criminals in his department. His identity as a Contractor (he is addressed as Hei when dealing with clients), still remains a mystery as all of his transactions are conducted through discreet owl post.
Although for the majority of his life he has remained decidedly neutral as is the nature of his business, quite recently he has come to slightly favor the Death Eater side, and that is why he applied for the position in Hogwarts. With the government they are proposing, it would be a lot easier for him to conduct business, as officially the ministry does not condone this practice. Though he is at the moment, still neutral but perhaps leaning.
What do they do at the Ministry?: As stated before, he works in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. He investigates the accidents, discovers the cause, and reprimands those who cause them in the first place.

Personality: Christopher seems at the outset to be a very aloof and detached person. Some people may find him infuriating, thanks to not only his seeming disinterest, but also for delivering sarcasm in a way that sounds perfectly sincere. Those under his authority have described him as "terrifying," though the best attempt to explain why is an exasperated "he just is." He takes "I'm not mad, just disappointed," to a whole new level by being neither mad nor disappointed, but instead pretending that nothing at all is out of the ordinary until the guilty party is squirming in their seat and begging for forgiveness. He can actually get angry, but outside of a trusted few people or extreme situations, the most he may seem is cross.
In addition to all that, he's an incredibly snappy dresser.

Eventually Christopher's parents split up after his father lost a good amount of his fortune in the stock market. Christopher was sent to boarding school thanks to his mother's brother Ralph (whom Christopher adored). He enjoyed school immensely, especially since he had never gotten to interact with boys his own age. He especially took to cricket, deciding that he wanted to be a professional cricketer when he grew up. Unfortunately, his love of cricket led to a bad accident one day, when his friend managed to crack Christopher's head open with a cricket bat, killing him.
He got better.

Personality: Like with most colonels in a TV series, Roy is special in his own way. At first, he might come off as being a womanizing, lazy, power hungry goofball. He always talks about his dates or writes them down in a journal. If that's not bad enough, whenever Riza's out he neglects his work in favor of calling various women. It makes it appear as though he hates working and loves the ladies. Aside from that, he constantly talks about taking over and becoming president. He wants to do this however necessary it seems which causes him to come off as manipulative as well.
In truth, he is a strong, intelligent individual that cares greatly for his friends and those that follow him. He knows what he has to do and does it, usually doing the right thing. When he finds Maria after she was accused of killing Hughes, instead of killing her he helped her escaped because he knew it couldn't have been her. The whole womanizing thing is actually not what it seems either. All of the things he writes about his dates are alchemy notes while those phone calls are him talking privately and in code with other members of his team that he trusts but doesn't want anyone else knowing what they're talking about. When Hughes was killed, Roy did whatever he could to find out who killed him. Of course, while asking people, he seemed all cool and collected about it. Once he got a yes out of Envy, there was hell to pay.
Roy Mustang 2/??
Everything was fine up until Hughes gets killed. This starts a chain of events that leads Mustang and the gang to find out that the heads of the army are involved in a conspiracy, the main thing being that King Bradley is a homunculus and that there was a plan to make a Philosopher's stone out of the nation. Bradley then separates those closest to Roy and makes Riza his personal secretary since he thinks this will make Mustang obedient. Boy was he wrong. Instead, Roy started an uprising against him, even going so far as to kidnap Bradley's wife and convince her that he was the bad guy. Roy also finally found out who killed Hughes. When Envy tells him, Roy completely snaps and tortures the hell out of Envy, as in he melts the guy's eyes twice. Thankfully, Riza stops him before he goes completely insane and then they have a touching moment.
Background (AU!Canon; HP): Roy Mustang was born in London, England to full blooded parents. He attended Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor. When he was a teenager, his parents were killed by dark wizards and so he was taken in by a kind older woman who also owned a brothel. She was the one who introduced Roy to his future teacher/mentor with the last name Hawkeye. This man taught him far better than any school could, especially when it came to fire magic. Roy was still sent to Hogwarts and Master Hawkeye taught him during his breaks. However, his mentor died before he could fully reveal to him how use perfected fire magic. The task of finishing his education was left up to his daughter, Riza Hawkeye, if she decided to do so and she did.
It was around this time that Roy joined the Ministry of Magic and became one of their dogs. Not too long after that, he was sent to a battle between the Ministry and Dark Wizards that was concentrated in a decent-sized village. It was in that village that he found Riza and that she has also joined the Ministry. No one with ties with Dark Wizards was to be sparred were the orders he and the others with him were given. Many innocents were also, unfortunately, caught up in the battle. After the fighting, Roy became determined to become Minister so that he could change things. Slowly, he begin his rise to power.
A few years ago, he was given the order to investigate a use of underage magic. He found that two boys had done a taboo; they attempted to resurrect the dead. The boys were taken before the Ministry for punishment, but Roy convinced them that such talented boys would be an asset to the Ministry as well as that they had suffered enough. The Ministry agreed on the condition that he would become their guardian. Roy agreed and convinced Ed to agree to become a Dog for the Ministry by saying he'd have access to more information which could help cure his brother's paralysis.
And that is how Roy became the legal guardian of the Elric brothers. The boys did not live with him and instead lived with Izumi just so Ed and Roy don't wind up killing each other. However, due to the recent attacks on Hogwarts students, Roy has decided or in other words, was ordered to have the boys live with him. Al already knows but Ed still doesn't. Roy will break the tragic news to him upon his arrival.
The only difference between the day he saved the brothers and now is Roy's position in the ministry. He has since risen up to become one of the most prominent and well known members of the ministry.
