Character Information
Name: Toto Sakigami
Canon Origin/Series: Deadman Wonderland
Gender: Male
Age: 18

Personality:

The first thing you might notice upon meeting Toto is that he's got a couple screws loose. If you're lucky, he'll remember his own name right away. If you're luckier, he'll remember whether to refer to himself as male or female. Even if his memory serves him well, his expressions don't always suit his words, and his words don't always fit what he means, creating some truly creepy moments.

Despite his disorientation issues, he's actually pretty perceptive about people and a very good listener. Although he uses this to be mildly teasing once in a while, it makes him understanding of what others are going through. He prefers to nudge people in the direction he thinks is best; even when he flat out gives advice, he doesn't try to enforce it. His suggestions may not be particularly kind towards anyone but the person he's talking to, but it's always a legitimate way for that person to reframe or get through a situation while minimizing the potential damage to themselves.

If someone who's like a friend to him isn't enjoying themselves he'll stay with them and, if they want, talk over what's on their mind. He does show distaste towards people who hurt others because they're too weak to even be a reliable friend, though.

Toto avoids outright lying, although he'll leave out things someone shouldn't know. Or fail to reach the point by speaking in cryptic, rambling descriptions. He does have a tendency towards sneaking about and eavesdropping and not giving warnings when he enters a room silently. If/when he's caught, he won't even try coming up with excuses.

There's a desire for power within him, but he knows full well that the only one who really controls him is himself, and it doesn't visibly bother him when someone thinks otherwise.

Toto is hardly innocent or naive. Still, he's almost childlike sometimes. He underreacts to and isn't really fazed by bad or frightening things, and overreacts to and is unnecessarily excited by pleasant things.

He's also obsessive over Branches of Sin and regaining his strength, with little trickle-y hints of former bloodthirstiness. This is one side of him that won't show up here, because it's, you know, AU, and I'm sure he's never killed anyone or been in screwed-up-amusement-park-prisons in SH-verse.

Why should they be a camp counselor?

It's partly true to say that it's because he was bored. The other main reason is that he's able to do it now, and that reason alone would be good enough. Toto's body is kinda fragile, and while it's mostly healed up he still injures easily this is canon. This would be the first opportunity in a few years for him to do something normal without it really messing him up.

Also he'd be that one counselor who's totally into it and will embarrass all the kids.

One roleplay sample:

The shirts sparkled.

Why couldn't all clothes sparkle? ...Then again, that could get irritating, Toto supposed. Especially if the sparkles washed off. They'd get all over everything.

(He resolved to find a sparkle spell once he got back home. Maybe it could go on a pair of mittens...)

The unicorn was almost cute, although kind of odd-looking. Probably the ear of corn on its head. One of the younger children had asked if she would get to see any unicorns. Toto was pretty certain there weren't actually any in the area, and definitely none like the one on the shirt. But he'd smiled at her, told her that if she kept an eye out she might get lucky and spot one. She'd shrieked loudly and run back to the rest of her group, telling them there were unicorns in the forest.

Well now, that wasn't what he'd said at all. Hopefully, the kids wouldn't be too disappointed if they didn't see a unicorn at camp. They seemed to be having fun though, and that was good.
