Counselor - Catherine Harcourt 2/2

Why should they be a camp counselor?

Catherine is pretty much one of the youngest captains in the whole Professional Quodpot Federation. Of course, that was decided after the captain of Denver Skygliders decided to retire from the federation after playing for twelve straight seasons. She was one of the youngest to be drafted into the federation ever since its inception, but she had proved her worth in her first season fresh out of school, with a net 15% higher scoring average than most of her colleagues, and all of that without the Quod ever exploding in her face. A pretty nice, neat record for the season.

Several weren't quite happy with her 'promotion' into being a Captain for the new incoming season, but others were genuinely happy for her to do so. Some are just plain worried that a new player to the pro league like her won't have enough experience in order to effectively lead the team, while other still just dislike the fact since she's a female leading a more-dominantly male team. Those that are excited about the fact that there will be a fresh new face on as the leader of this Western-conference winning team, plus the chance to see a female at the lead, one of the few among the many different teams.

Now, her manager said that since she was to be a household name among Quodpot fans in America, she should do something that should be seen as giving back to the community, or even be a part of something that would make her seem to be rather charitable by giving up not only some money, but more importantly, her time and efforts.

Which is why she naturally chose to do something in which she knew she could handle - being a camp counselor for a prestigious wizarding camp, and be none other than the Quodpot instructor.

She just hopes that she can, in fact, do it all without stressing herself out.

One roleplay sample:

"So, the camp deal - you're really, honestly going to go through with it?"

Catherine nodded as she replied to her manager, Jane, "What's so bad about going through with it? You yourself told me that doing something for the wizarding community, or giving some of my time would be best. At least in this way, I can at least show the kids something fun, and something that I know.

Jane shrugged, "I thought you could do a one-time deal, doing a canned food drive for the needy, or even something with more exposure than some dinky little camp."

Catherine raised a brow, "It's only one of the best known camps in the United States. I even heard that these British kids were supposed to come over this year as well, as a sort of cultural exchange thing, or something? If you get the people from the newspapers, you can probably tell 'em that I'm teaching foreign kids the joys of Quodpot."

She didn't really care about what sort of spin that Jane was going to put on this, but she knew that she was going to have some fun while she was out there. It had been a while since she'd been able to feel like a kid again, and at least in this way, she could go ahead and do so. She'd just be in a position of authority.

"Well, that does sound like a good way to put a spin on things..."

"Right? So just set things up like that, and you let me do what I'm supposed to do at the camp, and we're all set. It's only going to be for a month - what can go wrong?"
