PLOT POST

Ever thought of an awesome plot? This is the place to inform the mod team about your plot so that it can work out for everyone.

Unlike events which are more school wide and can be suggested at the calendar page, plots only include a small handful of people. Plots tend to be a sequence of events, where as events are one time occurrences.

Serious physical/magical injury, turning into a vampire or a werewolf, any dark wizard plot, actual criminal offenses that can take place in the real world (i.e.: serious harassment, rape, murder and so on) all need to be approved by the mods. Just fill in the text box to submit your idea.

This is less a plot request and more a suggestion in general, but: a past game I was in had a monthly 'rumor board' post - it was an OOC thing in which people listed things that were in the gossip mill/were being spread around - this is the one we used. Could something like this be a thing? Even an anon-enabled catch-all post for all of this stuff, open to players, with everything going in comments?

Players involved: Ming and Megan
Characters directly involved: Just Coulson ([personal profile] thegluethatbinds) and Murdoc ([personal profile] wwistfulCharacters affected: The same two.
When this would occur: Three days after the food fight.
Plot in full detail: Coulson's interested in investigating the student's behaviour at the camp, suspecting that a giant hex had been cast on them during the food fight fiasco. He's approached Murdoc as his fellow former Auror and Defence against the Dark Arts colleague, and the two have decided to check out the area. However, I'm unsure whether the evil force will still be around the area, or whether Coulson and Murdoc will be able to figure out and destroy it. What we do know is that the two are going to be affected, with Coulson particularly so. Coulson and Murdoc will duel, but it will end with Murdoc knocking some sense back into Coulson. We're not sure how this will end though, as we need mod clarification?

Just a plot suggestion, but how about a friendly inter-school Quidditch Competition in the hopes of improving the relations between the different schools around? Hogwarts could run trials to select who gets into the squad, which would be made out of different Quidditch students from different houses.

Players involved: Wilbur, mostly. Maybe Dave might stick his face in.
Characters directly involved: Wilbur
Characters affected: Wilbur
When this would occur: It would start this next week, if possible, and run into the school year.
Plot in full detail: I'd like for Wilbur to steal a Time Turner from the Ministry over summer. He'll be visiting his dad's work before school starts which will give him the opportunity to steal a Time Turner. I've researched Time Turners in the HPverse and haven't come across anything that states whether the Time Turners are regulated or not. I just know you need to obtain one from the Ministry. I have no intentions for Wilbur to use the Time Turner for anything other than pointless things. Even then, I can't think of an instance where he would want to. He mainly only wants to steal one because he wants to show off to his friends at school. He has all the intentions to return the Time Turner, but knowing him, it wouldn't end up that way.

Ri and I have joked before about Dave and Wilbur accidentally using the Time Turner. I can only imagine the result would be their future selves hiding from their past selves, and people being confused because they just saw them five minutes ago.

Players involved: Mordrid and Jen
Characters directly involved: Terezi [personal profile] just1c3w1tch and Constance [personal profile] quasistellar
Characters affected: Terezi and Constance
When this would occur: either not long after the Diagon Ally event ends or during it, not 100% right now
Plot in full detail: TZ and Constance both want to investigate the area where the camp fight occurred--Connie to do some astronomical readings, and TZ wants to do some divination. TZ's interested in trying to find out what happened for herself, because she's pretty sure the ministry will cover it up and she feels that the students involved have the right to knooooooow. Connie's going to stumble on TZ. I'm not sure what will happen exactly, but probably nothing serious, maybe detention at the worst if TZ plays her cards wrong. I think we mostly need to know if there's still lingering effects and if either of them will be able to figure out anything based on their methods of research?

So I was talking about this on plurk (and I wasn't sure if I should use the form since it involves everyone), but there should be an interhouse pranking war during the Bunk Buddies event. It could start as something simple before it becomes this huge thing of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw and Slytherin (teachers can join in if they want!). It'd help lower some IC tension left over from the camp event and remind everyone to have fun, because let's face it, our characters are kids and should have the type of fun kids have.

So, with Halloween coming up, there's going to be a giant Halloween feast for everyone in the castle right? Only this time, in the spirit of promoting multi-culturalism and understanding between Muggles and the Wizarding world, it'll be a costume Halloween party, with the best dressed winning a prize or something?

However, this being Hogwarts, something strange happens on Halloween night and from a set time, eg 8pm to 12am or something, people find themselves transformed into whatever their dressed up as? Like, dressed up as a vampire? You end up a vampire. A nurse? Suddenly you know everything about nursing 101.

The event would take place on October 31st, and maybe the competition would be announced two weeks prior so people can start preparing?

Players involved: Kim and Ming and everyone?
Characters directly involved: Rose Lalonde, Phil Coulson, and everyone?
Characters affected: Whoever joins.
When this would occur: October 27th
Plot in full detail: Rose is having a Masqeurade Party in Sal Vantas' classroom. She will be supplying refreshments, entertainment, and Professor Coulson will be assisting her in preparation and anything else that might be needed.

They'll be dancing, talking, eating, and a few contests with prizes! It'll be an open event and will have a log that everyone can mingle in.

Just wondering, but I was thinking of having Coulson ill on the 30th of October, the day after the full moon? As such he will be unavailable for class until the 31st. I've spoken with Murdoc-mun and she's OK with Murdoc taking over his classes on the 30th. It's not really a plot per say, but it would be a tiny hint, especially to Bruce, that Coulson's a werewolf.
3potionproblem: (is that so)

Players involved: Niko and whoever else wants to
Characters directly involved: Sherlock Holmes and whoever wants to be
Characters affected: Those involved
When this would occur: Depends on when everyone is available to do it
Plot in full detail: Sherlock was concerned that one of the experimental potion's he'd been working on might be a bit volatile so he concocts it in a boy's bathroom stall. If Moriarty apps and is accepted, he will discover his potion and sabotage it. If not, Sherlock will make a mistake. Either way, the potion explodes, throwing toxic fluid and smoke everywhere. Any boys in the bathroom are injured and anyone in the vicinity of the bathroom may be effected by the gas/smoke. Everyone becomes ill to varying degrees depending on exposure. Everyone recovers and Sherlock is disciplined.

So Ka Lung and Ib were discussing the possibility of recreating Pop Biscuits using charms. They're also going to ask Professor Matteris for help, as she's their charms teacher. Would it be possible for the two of them, with help from their professor and potentially other students later, to actually recreate Pop Biscuits?

Also, two other plot suggestions.

1. Duelling tournament.
I know we don't have a duelling teacher, but how about having a duelling tournament in Hogwarts? It could be knock-out style, and restrictions placed on the older students on what spells they can cast to even out the playing field between them and the younger students. There will be two divisions: 3rd year to 5th year, and 6th v 7th years. Prize could be money, some discounts at Hogsmeade, or an expensive spell book, or even extra credit if the students display a creative use of spells for their professors. There's no set date for this, though preferably sometime in Jan - March, nothing too near the exams?

2. Poltergeist (near April fools?)
Students and teachers at Hogwarts find that there's an increasing number of pranks. It starts out relatively innocent; misplaced items, being moved from the boys to the girls dorms, banana peels where there shouldn't be banana peels, but then as the days go on the pranks start to get more and more dangerous. Potion ingredients are labelled incorrectly leading to potential explosions or poisonous concoctions, banana peels near the stair cases, waking up on the roof of the castle, etc. Students and teachers can race to find out who's behind the pranks, or choose to sit back and observe the chaos. The true culprit is a visiting poltergeist who has lost his home due to it being knocked down. Peeves could potentially know who it is, but refuses to tell unless muns search the castle based on his hints for something that he's looking for. At the end the true culprit is found and Dumbledore deals with the poltergeist.
